- AIM:
To teach the skills and techniques required to skipper a
motor boat safely on coastal and offshore passages by
day and night.
|
- EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED: You should have a good knowledge of navigation
and meteorology and you should already be competent as a helmsman.
|
- THE
COURSE: The emphasis during the week is on
decision making, skippering techniques, passage planning,
seamanship, good navigation and boathandling. This is
a training week with an assessment of ability and potential.
|
- DURATION:
Due to the cruising range the course is run over five days
living onboard the boat.
|
- CRUISING
AREA: The cruising area for this course will depend
on the weather situation, we may work along the East Coast
towards Harwich or along the Kent Coast towards Ramsgate and
Dover. This course normally includes a trip to the continent
and the near coast of France, therefore, you will need to
bring your passport with you.

- ICC:
This course equates to the I.C.C. for Power - Coastal and
Inland (CEVNI Test Required)
|
- R.Y.A.
/ DoT: The R.Y.A. / DoT Coastal Skipper exam may
be taken after this course (subject to satisfactory completion),
should you require this certificate, please let the Principal
know in advance.

- Cost: Includes
all fuel and mooring charges incurred throughout the duration
of the course and all of the food and beverages whilst onboard.
